my husband was arrested for armed robbery. he let a friend use his truck, who then went and robbed 3 people at knife point. When he returned the truck to my husband he did not tell him. My husbands truck was towed off the street later that night. He called looking for it. when he went to the police station because the tow co. said he needed a release, they told him to come back when a certain detective was there. then a few hours later the detective called the house and told him he could pick up the release. when he got to the station that is when he found out about the robberies.

Come to find out his so called friend has used my husbands name before (the detective showed him his friends mug shot with my husbands name underneath). The description the victims gave were not my husband (he is 5'6, brown complexion, medium build) the descriptions they gave were dark black male 6'1-6'2, well built. the detective told my husband to cooperate, which he has, but they still gave him a 10,000 bail. why have they not done a line up? he requested one and the detective said he knew it was not him so it was not necessary.

my husband does have a prior armed robbery record from when he was 17-18 which he did time for. they say they are looking for this other guy but he has been seen walking the streets. It does not seem like they are doing anything. what can we do?

What can you do? Stay off the phone, and the net,as far as this goes. And DO NOT have any contact with the other dude. The reason they probably busted your hubby is because he may have loaned the truck with knowledge of the crimes to be,and that makes him an "accomplice to commit".
The pending warrent allows the cops to tap your phone to find the other guy,and to take your hard drive for the same reason. If the cops know already he is not the one that did it,he has nothing to fear....he just has to sit tight and wait it out.
