Arrears Interest Question

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California/Missouri/Kentucky

I'm slightly caught between three states and I'm wondering who to ask about this. My ex is currently 19k in arrears, he has the ability to pay, he has just chose not to. Retired military, total and permanent disabled, his monthly check is more than my husband's. The order is out of California, I live in Kentucky, ex lives in Missouri. I have registered the order in Kentucky, Kentucky has asked Missouri to enforce it. Missouri has requested to register the foreign judgment, ex's attorney asked for "more definite statement" and it is was sent to judge's office for review. This is all according to Missouri's court website. I have not attended any of this, the DA is my noted attorney?

All the above being said, do I need to request that interest be applied to the arrears or will that be done automatically? If I have to request it, who do I ask and what state's rules apply?

What do you mean "...interest be applied to the arrears..."?

Are you wanting to make sure that the interest will show as part of the total due?

I'm not sure if it would matter if it would show as the total due. I'm just figuring it might help to motivate him to pay child support if interest adds up.

Ok, that's more clear.

Yes, the interest will continue to accrue, increasing his balance due.

As a personal observation...the guy is over $19k in arrears. Interesting being added isn't going to provide any motivation.

Probably. Just thought it may help. Do I need to ask that he be charged interest and if so, which state's policy would apply?
