I got arrested for DUI drugs in GA. I am licensed in FL. My attorney told me I should get a GA Driver license otherwise I would not be able to drive in GA again. I am planning to go back to FL when this said all and done. I am not sure if that is really good advise. I also want to know if I decide to do have my probation transferred to FL. Am I going to face the penalties per the state of Florida or Georgia DUI penalties ? In FL I would be suspended for 180 days. In GA I was told it is 120 days. I'm just trying to weigh my options before i get a GA driver license. By the way I did not get administrative suspension.

Your probation and other penalties will be set by Georgia. The problem with the cross state licensing is that it's near impossible to get provisional licenses during suspension and to clear the post-license hoops that GA would require to reinstate you. Listen to your lawyer.
