What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

My mother recently passed away (6/29/2008) and I am the executor of her will.

Am I entitiled to obtain a copy of her credit report (I want to use it with the hope of finding out where she had bank accounts, and where she had debts).

If I am NOT entitled to her Credit Report, is there any way I can find out this information?

Also, how can I find out what life insurance policies my mother may have had?

My mother lived with my sister (who I didn't get along with) since July 2007, and if I ask my sister for my mothers' papers I know she'll say "what papers?". the only paperwork that'll survive is something that benefits my sister.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to get this; get a certified copy of your order (and make sure it includes ma's SS#). Then go to the credit bureaus.
