Bash Away

[Georgia]

Okay, I know I'm opening myself up for all kinds of sarcasm, but what the heck!

My ex turned 60, had multiple affairs, abandoned our home, and took everything including furniture, food and family pets. I raised his two children for 8 years. I maintained the home for 6+ months but was ultimately unable to keep it.

Apparently, there are two forwarding orders at the post office for that old address. One to me and one to him. As such, my ex received a refund check from our homeowner's policy that I canceled when I finally moved. It was made out to both of us. He signed both names and cashed it. Yes, I know, it's not uncommon -- but...

Also, my settlement agreement states that of the family pets, of which there were 3 dogs, I would have first right of possession should he ever be unable or unwilling to care for them. Two of them [Min Pins] were gifts to him from me. The third we got together.

Now the ex has remarried [and I won't go into detail about how he married a woman with both the same first and middle name as I have only two weeks after the divorce] and apparently his new wife has insecurities.

I first learned that one of the two min pins had died. Bled to death lying in the yard. I could never find out anything more. But then I heard that the second min pin was gone. His new wife took my pet of 8 years to Wal-Mart and gave him to a stranger, who's number she supposedly had, but now cannot locate.

And, if I needed any other reason for what I want, my ex is really not a good person. He looses his temper with his children [who are under 12] and tells them things like he's going to chop off their head and bury them in a pit. If his 8 year old son crys, he calls him a *ussy and laughs at him. He's never had even enough time to enroll either his boy or girl in sports, dance, karate, nothing. The children's teachers have all sense told me that nothing he did surprised him because they could tell he was no good. My family members say they all new he was a jerk but I didn't. He's big, works out and uses profanity and his size to frighten and intimidate others. His previous ex fears he will kill her. He's just a waste.

So, what do I want? First to apologize for the long message. Most of all I want whatever retaliation I can get. I don't want the money. I would like to have my dog and I'll keep looking. I want to show him that not all people will stand by and just let him walk on them. I want to take whatever action I can about the money and the dog. His job has him in a trusted position. I'm trying to find out now if the forgery affects his position and if so, I'll report him there. I want him to pay for all the harm he has caused.

So that's it. I'll take any advice anyone has to offer and I'll understand any bashing that takes place. I'll offer a challenge though. I'll give a big thumbs up who can tell me my ex's occupation just from the description

Okay, bash away everyone. But for those who know the true loyalty of a dog, and all that goes with it that doesn't need be said...

I was not inclined to pursue any recourse regarding the check, even though I think it was forgery. But now, I want ;) !

Thanks for reading!!!

well he is technically in contempt of the order, I don't know that he could rectify the situation though, if he doesn't know where the dog is to get him back to you then he doesn't know where it is.

I have loved my dogs like family but I don't think you would get far with this except for him possibly getting a small fine, if that. :(

Any Fine...

Thank you for your reply. Any fine is better than nothing. I've never wished ill will to anyone. But, in his case, I'm making an exception!

Thanks again.

You could try a missing dog add see if that does anything, maybe you could explain to the person that has the dog the situation, or at least see if the dog is okay.

Small claims court might be an option for both the dogs and the check he cashed. It won't get him fined for contempt but it might net her the monetary value of the property...since dogs are also property.

Thanks to all that answers. My search continues and I am placing ads and putting up posters, etc. And, I'll check into the small claims issue. I do appreciate the responses!

Man, he sounds like a catch! So...what's the occupation?
Good luck with the pet issue, and God bless his kids.
