We recently sold our house in clearwater fl. to protect our children. the elementary school they attended found asbestos in the basement classrooms. they knew for atleast a year before notifying the parents. my daughter spent two full school terms in the classroom where asbestos was found in the air. school board wouldnt let me transfer my children. the principle lied to me directly when i asked him if there was asbestos found.
we were left with no other choice but to move. is there any basis for a law suit??

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Well, yes, because asbestos poisoning can occur today (exposure to it) but the effects won't be felt for years. You can seemingly sue the principal and the school system (because he lied to you during the course of his work). I would contact an asbestos specialist attorney. Contact your STATE BAR ASSOCIATION and ask for their lawyer referral program to an attorney who has experience in asbestos civil suits.

Hope this helps.
