Asking for a friend who wants to come to the US

I have a friend who lives in Morden, MB Canada, about 15 miles from the US / Canadian border who has been wanting to move to the states for quite some time now.

The information online that we have found is quite confusing, and there's nothing that applies to his situation. AE: he doesnt have any 'skills' other than the job he currently does (construction), and he's definately not planning on getting married.

He just wishes to move to the US for reasons of his own.

Is it impossible without finding a fiance, or having specific training?

Any advice I can pass on would be appreciated.

Based on what your describing, the only chance he would have to enter the US would be in partaking in the Visa Lottery. You'll find more info on that on www.uscis.gov

Alright, thanks... that's pretty much the only thing either of us had found.

He's interested in a job in the oil field, on the gulf coast actually. Similar to that of what several of our friends do for a living, but with them all being US citizens no one had any idea what he would need to do to get down here to start the process of actively seeking a position.
