My friend has been married for 30 yrs. He wants a divorce. The past 6 years they have barely talked to each other. She lives in the house. he lives in his shop. After telling her she quit her job. Then she refused to live the house. So he moved. Two days later he received foreclosure papers on the house and property. He makes good money, she works 4 hrs a day. He gave her is paychecks to pay the bills, but they weren't getting paid. He had to go and pay all the ultilites and remorgage the house. They paid 69,000 for it 18 yrs ago, now it appraised at 160,000. She told him she wanted half. He borrowed enough to pay old note and 40,000. to give to her. She just now has vacated the property after going on vacation for 2 years. She has played like the victim. She ran off to texas, not packing a single box. He has done it. She calls him constantly demanding something, or just to cuss him. After getting every thing paid, he barely had 100.00 left. So it kills him to think about paying for a attorney.
Now she tells him that she will file that she has been researching it on the internet. She tells him will ask for every thing....What can he do? Did he screw him self by giving her the money?
