In the state of Virginia, what is the usual sentence for an "assault & battery on a family member" if it is a first offense. As I mentioned in another post, the "dispute" was at the fault of both of us and there was no real harm done... and I will testify to that in court (as the person "assaulted"). Thanks for any help!

We can't afford an attorney and there's no way we can come up with money for an attorney but we make too much for a court appointed attorney.
