What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Georgia
I was shoved and jacked up against the wall by a professor. I did not physically or verbally provoke the attack. The professor felt threatened because I shut the door. I did not retaliate but called the campus police.
The campus police came and report was filed and an investigation took place but I was not privy to the acitons taken by the University. I think he was merely asked to "look for employment elsewhere."
Shouldn't I, as the victim, be privy to what action was taken AND if I am not satisfied with the result how do I take further action? Do I now file criminal charges?
I now know the new University where he is employed and wish to inform them of this incident so the administrators and students will be aware that this man is violent and do not get assaulted like I did.
What are my rights and acceptable legal actions in this case? Whose jurisdiction does this fall under?
Can I get myself in trouble by "defaming" his reputation with an email or call? Is that slander? I don't wanna screw myself over trying to warn others. I want justice done, however.
Thanks in advance for any qualified advice.
Sincerely,
TheAssaulted
