What is the name of your state?Indiana

Hey my roommates were throwing a party, with many people. Some people got mad at a girl and about 10 of them ran upstairs to confront her where she was hiding in my roommate's room with my roommate. I went upstairs and told them to go downstairs several times, without acknowledgement, as they were verbally harassing the girl and appeared ready to attack her. I asked one to go downstairs and he told me no. I then picked up a bat and pushed slightly with it and told them to go downstairs, and they still just stared at me defiantly. I then dropped the bat and pushed one of them and told them again. They went down on the stairs and stayed there staring at me. I then began grabbing their hats and throwing them down the stairs, telling them to leave. They left the stairs but stayed in the kitchen and would not leave, so I went up to one and grabbed him by his shirt and screamed at him to leave. They then left but stayed out in my front yard yelling at me to come out and fight them. I stayed inside. My roommates went out and told them to leave several times but they refused to. My roommated told me they wre gone about 30 minutes later so then I went outside to talk in my back yard. They then came up from the side of the house and began taunting me. I began pushing one of them out of my yard, and he hit me , breaking my nose and giving me a black eye and giving me a severe laceration. I wrestled him to the ground and began punching him, but did not do serious damage, however he began choking me and I have bruises on my neck. Finally someone pulled me off of him and dragged me back inside and forced them to leave. They then returned later that night taunting my roommates to fight after I was in the hospital. My questions are, is it likely I could sue them for medical damages? Would I have to bring criminal charges to do so? Could criminal charges be brought against me? The police have not gotten involved yet.

Okay, your post reworded is this:

There was a drunken brawl at my house with lots of fighting. Who can be arrested?

Answer: The cops may arrest everyone and let the courts sort it out.

No it was not a drunken brawl, as no one involved was drunk, and it was only me and one other person fighting. No charges will be brought unless I make them myself, as no police report has been made. I was defending my guests and my property. How is that a crime? Do i have the right to defend myself in my own house? The question is, should I sue?

Was told by lawyer was within my rights. Question is how much money the person has. May have trouble finding a lawyer to sue a college student.

If you want to sue someone with no money, you will have to come up with a lot of money up front for the lawyer.
