My divorce was final in the state of Michigan in August of 1997. A few weeks ago I found out that my ex-husband had cashed over $100,000 worth of stocks in 1997, which he had accumulated during our marriage. He did not disclose these assets during discovery. Do I have a right to any of this money or is it too late since the divorce is final? Would this be considered fraud?
Thank you for any advice you can give.

My response:
Bring him back to court on an "Order to Show Cause Re: Perjury". Yes, you are entitled to your share based upon equity and that marital funds were used for the purchases.
Watch as your ex is not only ordered to pay you a vast share of the amount because he lied, but also watch as he gets his own pair of matching bracelets too ! Judges really dislike it when someone lies in their court and, because this is a criminal matter (due to the perjury), he'll get about 30 to 60 days in the "Pokey". As he's being led out of the courtroom, hand him a toothbrush, a change of underwear, and a jar of Vasaline. He'll need that for when Bubba gets ahold of him.
