What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana

The contract reads that either party can terminate the agreement with a 60 days notice. A resident dies on 5/15 with no notice.
The landlord indicates that the month of June is required to be paid as well as the "last month deposit" is also kept as payment for July.

Obviously a person who dies cannot give notice, can this be enforced? Also don't understand why rental is not prorated by day ?
