My grown son was helping me move when my soon to ex husband walked in and hit him in the mouth. We called police as he drove off. All they said was they would issue him a ticket if they could find him.
A week later my son ended up in the emergency room where x-rays shoewd his jaw was broken. They had to pull 4 teeth and insert a metal plate in his jaw.As of now the bills are almost $10,000.
In as much as we are in the middle of a very complicated divorce,my husband had hidden all the assets and converted everything we owned into cash and moved out of state. The company he sub-contracts from is paying him under the table as a favor until the divorce is final. This company is being called by my lawyer to show their books, where we can prove they are paying my husband, and they are the only source by which I am about to get any money from. Can my son hire an attorney to do the same thing? (go after the source of where my husband gets his money)He has made a lifes work of getting around every law, and abhors authority, so the normal wheels of justice will not apply here.
Is there any other way to get money from someone who has nothing to lose, and dares you to try and mess with him? Forget proper channels...I need someone to get one step ahead of him, just once.
Thank you in advance for your help.

My response:

Other than sending Luigi and Guido after him for a "Valentines' Day dance", what other ways can you suggest to "Forget proper channels...[and] get one step ahead of him, just once"?

Your son will need to sue him for "assault and battery." Have son see an attorney, for his injuries and damages, along with your injuries and damages if you were within the "zone of danger" and saw your son being injured, and also for your immediate fear, and for the medical bills of your son, if you are the responsible paying parent under the hospital agreement.
