Jamaica, NY - Tenant has lease -- moved in with security deposit only. never paid any rent (two months now) called building inspector reported violations of stove not working, house infested with rats, heat not going to bathroom and not getting water from the bathroom sink (plumbing problem that was never reported to LL) lease says tenant is responsible for plumbing. to fix bathroom heat, tenant needs to vacate for a few days because the entire bathroom needs to be pulled down and it leads to the back door, which may be a fire hazard (afraid tenant may call the fire department now), but there are two bathrooms including faulty one which is off the kitchen and tenant complains that tenant cannot get to use it because it is too cold, bearing in mind that there is one other bathroom. violations need to be fixed by a certain date.
