What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Indiana..

I do not know where to turn to. Going to try make a long story short! My ex dropped off my daughter age 12 at my Mothers house and gave her guardianship. I was seeing her regularly and now I asked my mother for regular visitations with my daughter. She told me NO (and for no good reason as my daughter wants to see me!) that her lawyer told her that she does not have to let me see her! My daughter hates it their and I told my mom after a couple months of visitations I wanted to take custody of her as of now my place is to small and need an extra bedroom for her and my other kids that live with me.
I have no legal problems, dont drink, drugs etc and so on but I am on disability which leads me here as I do not have enough money for a lawyer as I had a heart attack and cannot work for awhile. Is there anything I can do? I know I cannot just go get her but she lives 1 mile away and I cannot sleep at night now as I do love her very much but I am stuck between a rock and a hard place.:(

Thank you for any advice given.

How did your ex give your mother guardianship without your permission? Did he get a court order granting her guardianship?

I was in the hospital with a heart attack and she could not find me. She just dropped her off and signed over guardianship.. At first I was having brain farts and did not know what to do. Finally came to my senses and figured I would start by asking questions online.

But my mom is saying that she will dictate what times I can see her etc. She said her lawyer said I have no say so in this matter. I am awaiting for our lawyer group to call us back to see if she can do that..
I am the father Ohiogal lol.. Sorry did not clarify that! And since I did not answer a newspaper article I guess I gave her guardianship as well. (It was all court ordered and since I lived in another state at the time of course I did not get the small town newspaper!!) Yet all this was done. So I moved closer so I can see her more and this happens?

A year ago (Heart attack)

4 months living 1 mile away. But as I said I was seeing her all the time. And had a small place so when I got up the money to get bigger place and my daughter told me they where treating her meanly (not beating her just things like grounding her from talking to her mother and throwing things out I bought her etc and so on) that is when I asked my mom for (visitation on the weekends first) then custody.. Thats when she said No to everything and and I was running ragged on what to do.
And the orders are approximately the same age 1 year..

You need to go back to court. Petition in court immediately for custody of your child.

And stop letting your mom's empty threats intimidate you. You were too sick to care for your child before, now you're not, go to court and revoke the guardianship and get your child back. Grandma does NOT have more rights then you in this situation.
