am living in a trailor that in 7-98 at that time my boss offered to me in exchange for working. The verbal agreement was I would for $6.00 hr. till the trailor was paid off. I had to gain paying employment to pay the bills and when I did he would lock me out of the office which is his home. And and as time went on he would not call me or talk to me and when I asked him about payments he flat out said he did not want to talk to me and that was over a year ago. Then about a week ago he served me with and 5 day notice to pay or quit, Now I pay the taxes on this place and they do come in my name. Please tell me what my legal rights are. I am planning on moving and am actively seeking housing there just is nothing in my price range at this time. am living in a trailor that in 7-98 at that time my boss offered to me in exchange for working. ?? If the taxes come directly to you, you must be the titled owner of the trailor. You can't be evicted from a home you own. The most seller can do is try to foreclose on you. You need to talk to a real estate lawyer about whether your situation is an eviction or a foreclosure and how to defend either action.

You can defend the eviction/foreclosure by arguing that landlord breached the contract by refusing to let you work off your debt. Since he breached first, he can't complain about you not paying rent. You can probably raise sufficient facts to require an evidentiary hearing, reimbursement for the taxes, and a denial of his request for attorney fees. File an answer in court as soon as any complaint is served on you.
