Why wouldn't that be considered conflict of interest?

My response:

Because the Professional Rules of Conduct do not consider such familial relationships to be a "conflict of interest" when related attorneys are working on opposite sides of a case.

However, such a relationship may, in fact, work to your advantage. Relatives who are attorneys usually work better toward a settlement of the case for the parties because each attorney knows the other's ways of thinking.

Besides, they have to sit together at the same Thanksgiving dinner table.
