missouri,
according to missouri statutes it is legal to record phone conversations with only one of the involved parties knowing about it. The problem is that it also says there are stipulations in regards to the use of this information. is it legal to use recorded phone conversations in a hearing to show defimation of character and beligerant attitudes when the other party was not informed of the taping to begin with? thank you!

missouri is a one party state.

it is legal to record phone conversations without the knowledge of the other person (if the other person is also residing in a one party state).

rather or not you can use the tapes as evidence would depend upon the judge and rather he will admit them into evidence. alot could be used against them, including the fact that tapes can be tampered with.
