I live in oregon. Last week I was driving to work on I-5, As I was passing a semi truck a different semi truck traveling very fast(80-90mph) struck me from behind and proceeded to pass me on the shoulder and meridian of the freeway while being pursued by four police cars. The police reports indicate he's being charged with attempted murder, assault, felony hit-run, ect....Should I continue to work with the insurance companies or get an attorney on this ASAP?

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attoreney client relationship

Umm, get an attorney. You could wind up on the short end of the stick otherwise.

Were you injured, or did you just receive property damage to your vehicle?

There is no reason why you can't handle the claim on your own. Do not give statements to the other party's insurance company. Gather your documentation on injuries or damages, and submit them to the insurance company when you are ready to settle. The property damage claim can be settled without settling the personal injury claim at the same time. They are separate claims.

Beware that some states have a deadline as short as one year within which to file a lawsuit for personal injuries.

I was injured in the accident and am currently being treated. There is no question on who is at fault here. The part I am confused on is since the driver was commiting a felony, there is a possibility that the insurance carrier does not have to pay. Oregon law is different than Texas law(where the driver's carrier is located) I just want to make sure I am taken care of if the insurance carrier deems that the act was intentional rather than accidental.
