we live in california and were involved in an auto accident it was totaly the other persons fault. Their insurance company will pay for the repairs, car rental. I was not injured however, after the accident my husband has experienced lower back and shoulder pain. We proposed a settlement to the insurance company and now the adjuster states that they need an independent adjuster to inspect the van. What are they looking for? shouldn't an estimate from a body shop be enough? Is there a way to figure pain and suffering in dollar and cents. What do the insurance companys base their offers on? Intiatily they offered my husband $250.00 neither of us think that is enough.

My response:

. . . and why haven't you consulted, and hired, a Personal Injury attorney ?

Do you think you know as much or more than the insurance company knows when it comes to laws, and investigation, and valuation of damages ?

Get an attorney as soon as possible. I can already see that you're going down the path of being screwed.
