Hello and thank you in advance for your response. I was involved in an auto accident when driving in the northern part of my state. I was taking my kids up to the Snowbowl ski resort to go sledding. On the way up the mountain there was a curve, I slowed down to about 15 mph but hit black ice and the suv slid into the other lane. I believe the other driver may have slid also. I ended up with passenger side damage to my vehicle and the ended up with passenger side damage to their vehicle. At the time we had agreed not to make a police report and to settle it without making the report. We both had agreed at the time of the accident that neither party was injured. I told the party involved that I did not have auto insurance. I do not know if this road is private property or not either. A few days later the couple changed their minds and decided to file an accident report with the sherrifs county where it happened. They called me and asked for my information but I have not gave them my DL license yet or the license plate on my vehicle yet either.

This is my situation :

I am not covered under the insurance for my wife's SUV because it is through her work.

I also found out that my license is suspended for an old ticket I had failed to pay.

What could I possibly do in this situation?

I know I sound like a real schmuck, but I don't mean to be. If I could get some answers from you it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

Of course you are a schmuck-but you already know that. You better hope your wife doesn't lose her job because of this. There isn't anything you can do now except wait and see how much of your hide they want; get an attorney to try to negotiate something other than your first-born son. You are lucky nothing happened to your kids. You can pay the ticket and any others that might be lurking in your glove compartment.
