What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? georgia. I was in accident 11/28/00, very bad wreck. It wasn't my fault. I retained a lawyer. Both parties involved have the same insurance company. I still hurt very bad and should go back to the dr, but I can't afford it. According to my lawyer, all of my dr bills have been paid and he is telling me I have to settle for a very small amount without considering any out of pocket cost, pain & suffering, loss etc. or without me submitting any loss to him. The reason being the person causing the wreck only has $25,000. coverage and the only other I might be compensated is from my uninsured motorist. The wreck caused my teeth to break out from gritting, my dentist has verified this, but nothing is being done for repair. The lawyer says I can only get what coverage the other guy has. And that I would have to sue the other party for anything else and he refuses to do this because "the other person probably doesn't have anything and he's not wasting his time". In the beginning I was told the insurance company would be sued for compensation and then it would be up to the insurance company to sue the other party for any loss. Please give me some advice as to what to do. I feel like my lawyer is representing the insurance company instead of me.thanks a bunch.
