What is the name of your state? iowa**my husband was on his way home from work and a man ran out in front of his van. the man hit the windshield and flew about 50 yds. he passed away the next day. my husband is having a hard time with this and has sought medical attention ( pychitrist ) he is unable to sleep without taking something and then wakes up in a panic. i talked with our insurance company regarding medical payments and they said they will need to get medical records and investigate. he has lost time at work and is really suffering. are we entitled to any compensation for medical, and his mental pain?

We cannot possibly answer your question. We haven't read your auto policy, nor do we know your coverages and amounts.

See a local attorney about making a claim against the dead man's Estate, and while you're at it, see if the attorney will review your auto policy as to whether your husband can make a First Party claim.

I feel real bad for your husband, but I gotta wonder how the dead guy is feeling about this whole matter . . .
