I was involved in an auto accident. The other person ran the light and hit me on the passenger side of the car. He gave me his drivers licence number, phone number and left the scene because his car was not damaged. My car had to be towed. I called him and asked for his insurance info and he said he will not pay because I ran the light. I told him that I filed a police report and will talk with an attorney. Later that day his insurance claims examiner called and said she needed some info from me. She asked me for my Insurance co. and policy number, DOB, DL number, yr make and model of veh and location of the veh. I told her I would get back with her with the info. My question is, do I have to give up my ins. info, I don't have a problem with the rest of the info, but if I give up the ins. info, I'm afraid he will try to file against me. What do you think.
