I have a '95 Ford Windstar. A year ago, I experienced slippage in the tranny. I brought it to a Ford dealer where I purchased it used (in Pennsylvania). Was told it needed a new tranny (for which I spent ~$2000). It had a 12mo/24,000mi warranty. About a month ago, it developed a fluid leak. They replaced the pan gasket; still leaked. Brought it back, and they tore the tranny apart. Fixed the leak, but soon after, it developed slippage problems very similar to the initial problem, after ~30 minutes of driving time. Now, they say they "don't have time" to drive it 30 minutes, and refuse to consider the transmission as a problem at all. Instead, they kept my car 5 days and said it had an engine misfire, replaced the wires (at a cost of $228), and the car still has the same slippage problem. When I brought it in originally, they were so quick to replace the tranny, yet now, under warranty, they don't even want to look there. My warranty will expire in 6,000 miles (which is about 3 months' worth of driving). What type of recourse do I have? Can I demand that they extend the warranty? Or, demand that they sign a document stating that I came in on such & such a date reporting a problem with the tranny, but they declined to investigate? Can I have it diagnosed independently, and if it does have a problem, have them repair it and reimburse me for the diagnosis? I don't know what to do at this point. Thanks, Frank
