Bought a car last week. Buyer's Guide stated factory warranty was still in effect for another year. Just found out the factory warranty expired 7 months ago. Is this considered fraud? Thanks!

Have you contacted the dealer to find out what they have to say? At this point, you really have no damages. The only point that you would have damages is if you have a problem that would be covered under the warranty that ends up costing you money.

ETA: Also, check the "buyer's guide" closely to make sure that they are guaranteeing that the warranty is 1 year, or if they are telling you that you need to confirm it for accuracy

Using that example, are you saying that the box marked "MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY STILL APPLIES. The manufacturer's orginal warranty has not expired on some components of the vehicle" was checked? If so, then there are likely still components of the vehicle that are still covered by a warranty, even if the "bumper-to-bumper" portion of the warranty has expired.

Not necessarily. Could just be a mistake. Factory warranties run from the date of the first sale of the vehicle and don't necessarily coincide with the model year.

Example: You bought a 2015 model, thinking that the 36 month warranty would be good through 2018. However, the first sale date was Oct 1 2014 when the model first came out. The warranty expired Oct 1 2017.

You can find the date of the first sale by running the VIN through the following history report site. It's free.

Whether or not you can hold the dealership to that buyer's guide statement is beyond me.
