state is califoria. this is a auto insurance question. i applied via INSWEB.com for auto insurance. they gave me several quotes and i took the lowest. the company was explorer insurance co. in short, i provided all the information they requested, completed and mailed all the forms they sent. they verified all the information and issued me a policy and took 1/3 (just under a $1000.00) of the premeium on my credit card. less than two weeks later i receive a cancelation notice in the mail stating that they didn't like my DMV report.

i have never had a cancelation before and this will show up on my records now which will cause me problems getting insurance at a resonable rate. When they issed the policy they said they had checked everything and everything looked fine. (i had 1 speeding ticket (13 miles over limit) and 2 minior accidents in last 5 years).

I feel i have been damaged by them issuing me a policy and then canceling it two weeks later. this is going to hurt me for a long time.

i would like to know if i have any legal recourses or other options?

Thank you,

Tom Lackey
