what are the laws regarding auto insurance fraud in the state of new jersey. charged with insurance fraud in 1998 in new york state. insured at the time in new jersey. charges reduced to a class b misdemeanor. currently in assigned risk insurance pool. what are the statues of limitations for this crime in the state of new jersey? when can i reapply for regular auto insurance?

There is no statute of limitations as such in terms of your right to get another insurance company to insure you as if you were an honest guy after defrauding another insurer. They can't trust you, and a Class B misdeameanor is nothing to sneeze off either; it's serious.

You may want to inquire of the NJ Insurance Department.
