I was visiting some family recently, and was driving my grandfather's car. I found out later that he doesn't have insurance on the car, when I got pulled over and that was part of the ticket. I have insurance with my own car, but he is unable to get insurance on that car for the "fix it" portion of the ticket, anyone have any idea of what to do?

When you take control of a motor vehicle, you are responsible for ensuring it is safe, in good operating condition, and legal to drive. While providing insurance on his own vehicle was your grandfather's responsibility, ensuring the vehicle and driver were covered during your period of operation was your responsibility.

Your resolution will be to satisfy the citation in whatever manner you are able, whether that's providing legitimate insurance coverage somehow, or paying the fine (and possibly other consequences).
