What is the name of your state? Missouri

My wife and I purchased a used car from a dealership on February 27th. I recently got a promotion so I will be making more money than I have been. My wife is less than a year at her job, so her 2007 W-2 does not show her annual salary. Together, we will make what I indicated on the loan application, but tax returns and check stubs do not compute to the amount that I indicated on the loan application.

Today, March 5th, the finance manager at the dealership tells me I have to provide a letter from each employer showing we will make what I stated or pay the dealership and additional $795.00 to cover fees they will recieve from the finance company.

I plan to provide the letters, but want to make sure that I am not getting duped. If the letters are not sufficient, or if some other mysterious problems arrise, do I have an obligation to pay them for "fees" or "service charges"?

I think they should have verified everything before they let us have the car, and plan to stand my ground if it comes to that, but I would like some peace of mind in the mean time.

Thanks:)
