What is the name of your state?
Virginia

During Isabel, a tree on my property fell across both of my cars resulting in total loss of both of them. The tree appeared healthy and sound. My insurance company is insisting that the loss is covered under auto insurance with a deductible of $1000 on each car and are willing to pay only for removal of the part of the tree that rests on the cars. Would this be an "Act of God" and covered under the Home Owners Insurance with a deductible of only $100? The first adjustor assigned it as Home Owners with the $100 deductible, but subsequent contacts have maintained that it is Auto insurance. Is my insurance company pulling a fast one on me? Very anxious to hear a response on this. Thanks in advance

Autos are excluded from a homeowner's policy. Your auto were damaged due to falling objects therefore the comp portion of your auto policy pays for the claim.

I am also surprised you are getting some sort of payment toward removal of the tree.

Even if your vehicles were covered under your homeowners, you are far better off in the long run to have the claim filed under the comp on the autos. Homeowner claims can and will come back to haunt you in the future.
