I am dealing with a mechanic in New Bern NC. He had said I needed a new fuel pump on my car, said he replaced one and charged me for the labor and parts. Turns out he never touched the fuel pump. After this happened, I have met over a dozen people that he has also done similar things to. It seems he gets you to hire him for the work, gets you to buy new parts, then he trades the parts in for cash and charges you for the labor. He has been to small claims, and I was going to take him there myself, but I am instead alerting everyone I know about his faulty mechanical doings, by putting up flyers, posting my phone # and a hotmail address, so people can send me his story, even have the local news working on it. I am having people write a statement of how they have been ripped off, and hoping to take them all to the dist. att. in hopes that they will shut him down. One girl paid him over $500.00 to put a motor in her car, her car now sits in a salvage yard, stripped, with no motor. He has managed to junk alot of customers cars, and sell for parts, I do not understand how he can do this. I have filed complaints with the BBB, Cunsumer dept., and att. general. What else can I do?

You can sue him to attempt to recover your 'damages'. Any other attempts to berate or 'gather a gang' are vigilante and clearly NOT a part of your damages. Take care of your own claim first, then if you still have an 'axe to grind', notify the media of his business practices.

yes, have the media investigating it, and also the IRS. Do not care if I get my $ back, want him shut down and out of town!!!
