i live in colorado and had my car stolen. i got the car back but my stereo and cds were stolen. the kids who did it were caught, some are minors but some are older than 19. what course of action do i have to try to get retribution from these kids or their parents for things that my insurance dosen't cover?

You will want to file a lawsuit against them in small claims court for the value of the items that were stolen from your vehicle. You will want to get copies of the police reports and any court records for the defendants who were over 18 at the time of the crime.

If they pled guilty to the criminal charges, you will have a very easy time winning your case. You may also want to contact the parents of the children by telephone, if they are decent people they will pay you without being forced into court.

Good luck, glad to hear you got your car back :).
