After much worry, I served a rentor with eviction notice and also for request for judgement on back rent.
When in court the judge asked the rentor if she was still living in the house and if she would relinguish residence.
She said she still had some posessions and could be out by the weekend. The judge gave her one week to relinguish possession of the residence. Then asked her about back rent which totaled $1250.00. She said she owed it so the judge found that she would pay me the amount. That was it.
So I spoke to the rentor after the appearance in court.
She agreed when she gets her income tax refund to pay me. I told her to come by or mail a certified check to my residence. This where i think i made a mistake. My question is how long to i give her to pay. She indicated to my after the court appearance she will be moving in away from my city in june 2001. What do i need to do to ensure she pays me the entire amount that is now said owed by the court of $1250.
Does it matter if she moves out of the state of Illinois where the court judgement was made?

Yes it matters.

Only the Illinois court can seize her property or her paycheck or her anything else, without you finding her and spending money to establish the judgement in another state.

GOOD LUCK!!i took a tenant to court for back rent,i even paid a lawyer 300.00 to get rid of the trash, same story as yours [eviction, wrongfull detainer]its been almost 2 months and their still there!!!even though you were given a judgement its up to you to collect.try to find out if there is any personal property she owns[in mo.] you can get that info. at the court house, slap a lein on it!also if you can find out where she works you you can garnish her wages{do you have her s.s.n.?dont wait for the courts to do something {landlords have no rights]. the words of my attorney"swallow the loss, and learn a very valuable lesson ,,screen your tenants BEFORE they move in!!!also get as much info. as you can on them like s.s.n.,where they work, where are they moving from?{even write their license plate # down!! I found alot of info.from the mo. bar and djdj!!!!!
