What is the name of your state? tx

well im at fort hood
i missed movement to JRTC but had reported back to my unit since then
now i skipped 2 days of work and one of my buddies came by and told me that division knows about it.

what ever.
my platoon sergeant pretty much told me that if i would skip some more work id get a misconduct discharge. which is why im at home now. ( and by home i mean i live on post in fort hood housing ).

ideas? i want to get out. should i go the fort sill route or what?

see a factor that makes me not want to " jump ship " is my firearm is secured in the arms room on post here.

how long does that ft sill route take ( once the warrent is started of course? ) ???

and which would i rather get out on a misconduct or the ft sill route?

should i just show up to work monday morning ( ive only been gone since.. wednesday )

wouldn't recommend it

you missed your ft.sill boat a while ago, that route is only good for tradoc soldiers. your legal risks grow the longer your in the service, the more they have invested in you the more they will fight to keep you. your legal risks are much higher being that you have been in the service awhile. im guessing you have been in longer than 6 months, meaning your no longer an entry level soldier, so you cant get that type of discharge. so if i were you i wouldnt suggest the AWOL/deserter route as you stand a much greater chance of getting a full courts martial, which is something you do not want. if you have good reason to get out, then fight to get out, but i just wouldn't take the awol route for your situation.

Medical care

How about you go back. Apologize. Tell people what is bothering you, what you need to fix, how its not everyone elses fault, and why you don't care about screwing up your life and causing problems for the soldiers around you. Put yourself at their mercy and believe in the power of redemption.

Believe it or not you do have some control over the outcome ... even at this point. People forgive the darndest things when they think the person gives a darn and really wants to think of someone other than themselves. There's no NCO out there who doesn't want to get a messed up troop on the brink of destruction to save his own a$$. Then they'll call you an inspiration!

There are others, who won't help you, and just put you up in front of that firing squad that really does still exist. Find the friendly fire ... you have a better chance of survival.

Make the choice and run for it. Otherwise ... they'll make it for you. Housing means you have a wife and maybe kids .... fix this ....
