B2 while waiting for K1

Hi, everyone, i would like to apply for B2 to meet my fiance's family while waiting for K1 visa. If i get denied, would that affect somehow my K1? Thank you.

I don't think they will grant you the B-2 visa, because they'll probably see it as a way for you to get into the US faster than with a K-1. They already know you want to enter the US, you are trying by K-1 - what makes them think you won't stay once you visit with your B-2? Not being mean, but USCIS thinks that way!
