I have a five year old daughter. I have a great relationship with her and we have never had a legal agreement. For 5 years her mom has been telling me that 400.00 a month was the minimum child support in CA. So, for a few years, I gave her 400.00 a month and paid for health insurance and doctor visits. At other times we agreed that child support would be indirect, in the form of payments to her day care, etc. I recently filed a request to establish child support so there wouldn't be anymore confusion. We're going to establish custody as well, etc. I have copies of most of the checks I've written to her, doctors, day cares, etc., and it comes out to somewhere between 27,000 and 28,000 total. The dissomaster came out to around 216.00 a month but nothing is official yet. My question is: is there a chance that I may be ordered to pay back child support?

Thanks.
