What is the name of your state? case is in Illinois, father lives there but mother & children are in Missouri

I am actually asking for my mother who does not have internet access. My parents divorce was final in 1991. At that time my father was ordered to pay $250 in child support a month for 4 children. (Very very low in my opinion.) We are now all over 18. The youngest, my sister, will be 20 in March. He has almost never paid the court ordered child support. He is now about $30,000 behind and the state of Illinois seems to be doing nothing. My mother has been dealing with child support enforcement in both states, but is getting nowhere. Is there anything she can do to collect what she's owed?

She is on of the few people who might benefit from using a private child support collection service. Neither state government is going to give her case much attention because you are all legal adults. A private collection service will take a decent percentage of anything they collect.....but it may get her something, as opposed to nothing.

Thank you so much for your reply. I'll be sure to tell her about the private collection agency. I would still love to get other options for her. She could really use the money right now as she's been off work (not by choice) for nearly 2 years now. Does anyone else know an option that she could use?
