Hi,
not sure so i thought i'd ask. my employeer gave me a raise and said it would be on my next check. it was not put on my check until 3-4months later. do they have to give me backpay or no?

Not unless you have a bona fide, enforceable CONTRACT (not an offer letter, not an employee handbook, not an e-mail from your supervisor, a CONTRACT) that specifically guarantees that you will get a raise at specific times.
