i have physical custody and control with joint legal care awarded to both of us. i live in mich. my daughter is 14 and has been living with here father since april of this year. I allowed this because of the harm she was doing to my other two children ( physical and emtional abuse) but no legal papers were changed. since that time i have tried to keep in contact with her as well as her father with no preveil. her father currently went out of town and has left her in the care of her friends parents....as legal guardian i had not been notified or was told this .. in the past when ever the children need to be watch for a period of time i have insited that they be with thier father. when i found out where she was i told her that she needs to come home ..she refused.. and the police dept here will not interfer with civil matters.... i then called friend of the court to see what i could do they told me that only deal with matters of child support , visitation, and recommended child support....so during this time if something happens to her i am legally responsible with no help from the authorities...i was told that i need to retain an attorney in this matter.... but as we all know that that takes time .. which i feel that i don't have ....does anyone have any advise for me?

My advice, go get your child as legally she is still in your custody. Let this be a lesson that all changes regarding custody should ONLY be done through the courts.

Go get your daughter, it is your right, your daughter is 14, you are her boss. Get her some help with her abuse toward your other children, go back to court and get every thing in writing and as a court order. She needs to be with you, when not able to be with her father, if that is where she wants to be and if her father really wants her.
