in sept of 2000 i traded in a car which i owed 12,500 still on, for a pickup truck. the dealer gave me 10,000 and tacked on the rest to the truck loan. i thought that was it, boy was i wrong. now 2 years later i go to buy another vehicle and fing my credit said that the car never was paid off by the dealer who through research found was in jail for fraud. the bank never called me, never tried to reposses the car. the bank will not tell me if they have the title still. so i went to carfax.com and found the car was resold and issued a title. what do i do? my credit was great when i traded in the car but now because of fraud and possible embezzelment, i am ruined. i welcome any legal advice on what i should do?
