I purchased a used vechile on 6/29/00 it came with a 50/50 warranty of 1,000 miles or 30 days. I drove ot for 3 days and it lost all power. I called the dealer he said to bring it in I did. It took almost 3 weeks to fix and coust me $400.00. I drove it for 4 more days and started running hot and leaking oil. Again I called the dealer he said to bring it in again. I asked the first time if I could just get my money back and he said I would still have to pay for the repairs. I was wondering is their any action I could take being as I did have some type of warranty and he still cant seem to get this fixed. Thanks

Pardon me, but I am a little confused. You say that you had a 1000 mile / 30 day warranty, but you paid $400 for a repair only 3 days after purchase. Why did you pay at all if you have a warranty???

If you are saying that your 50/50 means that you pay half the cost of all repairs, you got taken by an old trick. "Bring the car to me for repairs, I will double the cost and you pay half".

Total up all your repairs before the warranty expires, then write the dealer asking for a full refund. If not received, consider filing an action in small claims.

Also, if the dealer is not able to properly repair the car, look at your agreement and see if it requires all repairs to be done by him (bet it does). Consider taking the car to a competent repair shop and sue the dealer for the cost.

No your not confused that is what the warranty meant. I only drove the truck 3 days before I had to put it in the shop for repairs. It stayed in the shop almost 3 weeks before I got it back. Now it's messed up again and I have to get it back down to the dealer tomorrow and it's leaking oil so bad I'm almost afraid it will blow up before I get it their. I also told the dealer he might want to have it towed and he said that he did'nt have anything to tow it with and to do the best I could. Is my 30 day warranty up being as it spent most of the 30 days in the shop? But it was also 1,000 miles and I've between them and me driving it passed that. I've asked the dealer for the money back when it first messed up but he said I would still have to pay for the repairs. Thanks for your help!
