I had an HMO plan through BCBS of FL., I had a surgery that was approved for in Florida the surgery was to remove a tumor from my neck. Apparently they were unable to remove it and referred me to a physician in Louisiana.Which was approved. I moved to North Carolina but kept my insurance through cobra serv. After the surgery, I kept getting calls I keep giving all the information that it is needed. But yet the insurance company has not paid yet and I'm bing left to pay over $16,000.

The first thing that you may want to try is to send copies of the bills to the insurance agency... Also you might want to put the hospital billing personel in touch with the insurance co. and have them ask directly if they are willing to do that... If all else fails, and they sue you, you join your ins. co. to the lawsuit for contribution, or indemnification of the debt.
