This seems really wrong to me:

I order a product for a very good price, turns out the price was a 'error' so they cancel. Okay, I understand the company can't afford to take a huge loss. But here is the kicker, they CHARGED my CC, with out ever any intention of delivering and will be proccesing a refund in about 5 days.

This is the second or third time this has happened to me at various etailors, I am getting kind of pissed. I emailed them and they said tough luck we can cancel at any time for any reason. Well okay I really want to complain to the AG, BB, CC merchant services, etc.

I mean really, taking such liberties with someone elses money and floating it for a week or more?!?!? This does NOT seem legal, or at least it should not be. It would be different if they sold out and thier stock tracking just messed up but, they would have at least had the intention of making good. BUT THEY CHARGED THE CARD WOTHOUT EVER HAVING THE INTENTION OF DELIVERING THE GOODS!

I'm not saying it's right, but from an e-commerce store owner, I'll tell you a few things I'm sure you didn't realize.

This transaction cost this merchant. It costs time, it costs fees, and it costs the bad reputation that they now have with at least, you, and whoever you tell about this.

This does happen from time to time, and it is the stores fault. And, they should do a better job with their company, but you may take some solace in knowing that no retailer will ever do this to a customer intentionally because when they do, they pay.

Retailers pay on average %2.2 for every online credit card transaction, that's coming, and going. that's the %4.4 in all. So if the charge was $100, the cost to this retailer would be $4.40 for nothing, plus whatever time they spent on it.

Also they probably (they should have) processed this refund immediately, the 5 days they stated is probably allowing time for your bank to process it, not them. So there is nothing more they can do about it.
