What is the name of your state? Pa I came across some of my bank certificate of deposits that matured between 1985-1988. The original bank merged and the takeover bank does not have any record of my CD's and will not cash them. They are insured FDIC but the bank did not fail so the FDIC has no record. I also went to the unclaimed property bureau which has no records. THe bank says after 7 years they're no longer responsible to keep any records and passses them onto the state unclaimed property bureau. What can I do since I have the original CD"s but I'm having trouble cashing them in?
