What is the name of your state? Nevada

My bank contacted me about suspicious charges on my credit card and after I verified the charges were fraudulent, they cancelled the card and are reissuing me a new one.

Is there anything I should do now? Should I call the credit reporting agencies and have a note put on my credit about this? Could that affect my score? I’m worried that someone might try to open a card or get a loan using my information. Am I being paranoid or prudent?

Thanks

If they caught it right away, it should not have any adverse affect on your credit. Keep an eye on your next statement to see if there is anything you do not recognize, but make sure it is not a charge you made and forgot about.

In my case I was out of state when someone attempted to use my CC# for an 800 number purchase (but with wrong name), and the CC company subsequently rejected an attempted purchase at an online travel agency in FL. The only charge I had to dispute was was for more than I could think of spending at a drug store that was posted while I was out of state. They dropped it. When the bank called me about what I thought was a replacement card, that was actually an additional card, and I received the replacement card later.

Not sure where somebody got my number (or if they even knew my name), but that account number is dead, so they cannot use it for anything.
