What is the name of your state? IA

According to my divorce decree, ex-husband was awarded the joint residence "subject to the outstanding indebtedness theron, which indebtedness shall be assumed by Respondent(him). Respondent shall indemnify and hold the Petitioner(me) harmless from any liability hereon. The Clerk is hereby directed to issue a change of title placing title to said property in the name of the Respondent." I have just been made aware that the house is being foreclosed on and my name was not removed from the house. They served me with foreclosure papers and asked if my vehicles were mine. My ex-husband is just telling me not to worry and that he is "taking care of it." Am I liable for this? What are my options?

Thanks!

Divorce decrees are not binding on a creditor. If your name is still on the mortgage, you're on the hook. If it sells for less than is owed, they could come after both of you for the deficiency.
