What is the name of your state? Georgia

I made a deposit at the night drop for work. My company called me a week later to tell me the deposit hasnt posted. I figured they were late posting the deposit becuase it has happened a few times in the past month. After finding no record of the bank bag I requested the bank to view the video to show that I made the deposit. I gave them the time and a description of me. They called my company a few days later to let them know that no one is on the video during the time frame I gave them. It is company policy that 2 employees take the deposit to the bank and I had someone follow me on that day. I am absolutly sure that I made the deposit on the day and time I reported to my company and that the deposit was made. My company is now going to file a police report on the missing money. Is it possible that the bank is viewing the wrong tape or at the wrond time? Are the security cameras federally regulated? Is this something that happens with night deposit drops?

Was the deposit all cash, all checks, or a combination of the two? This may not be important, but I just thought I would ask. You say that you had someone follow you, but you didn't mention if they were able to verify your claim.

It is possible that the bank is viewing the wrong tape, but it's not likely. Also, security cameras are NOT federally regulated. Most of the time they are used as a theft deterrent and nothing else.

One other very remote possibility is that the envelope or bag got stuck in the box. Has the bank explored that avenue? Have they had any other cases of other missing bags? Please give me a little more information.

The deposit was $2100 and all but $67 was in cash. Which I realize looks bad. The person who followed me to the bank can verify my claim. That is why it doesnt make sense that we would not be on the security camera. The bank said they will not tear apart the bank drop unless they can verify that I dropped it with the video tape. Otherwise it will cost the company $500 to have them take apart the deposit box. I'm unaware of any other claims of deposits missing. But my company has had several problems with deposits from that bank in the last month. My only problem is....why am I not on the security camera. I am absolutley positive I was there on the date and time I said and have a witness who actually saw me drop it. Is it posible that all the cameras in the bank are on 5-10 splits and it just missed me? What recorse do I have now? Is it possible theft came from inside the bank?

There any number of possibilities with the cameras. They could have just missed you. They could have been disabled at the time in question for some reason (i.e malfunctioning). It is hard to know for sure.

At this point I can't see what recourse you have. If all you say is true, then you have to let your employer, the bank, and the police sort this out. There are too many variable in this situation for me to guess at this time.

I know it's difficult and you are worried, but just sit tight and wait for the next step to take place. There's really nothing you can do at this time.
