I wrote a check to withdraw cash from my bank. They didn't actually take the money out of the account until 2 months later. Can they do this? Where can I find more information on this?

The check is good for 6 months. It's your responsibility to keep track of outstanding checks and leave money in the account to cover them. Checks are regulated by the Uniform Commercial Code.
